A state law allows more drivers the opportunity to qualify for Indiana Specialized Driving Privileges, formerly known as Hardship and Probationary Licenses. Indiana law has specific legal requirements that a petition for Specialized Driving Privileges must meet. In addition, the Prosecuting Attorney may appear to make arguments against the petition. The Judge has sole discretion over whether to grant the petition and what conditions may be imposed on a case-by-case basis.
If you are the subject of a Lifetime Suspension, you may be eligible for a Full Reinstatement of your driver’s license under the new law. This, however, is a different process with stricter requirements than Specialized Driving Privileges.
